Last week was a busy week full of events for P & A Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc!
We were happy to attend an allied relations counsel breakfast with CFHLA where new board members were introduced. We attended the BOMA November give thanks luncheon where new board members were sworn in and everyone who played a strong role in supporting BOMA this year was thanked. The IFMA November luncheon was another wonderful event which allowed the members to brainstorm and give ideas on an upcoming event in the works.
What I would like to highlight today is the BOMA Rebuilding Together event on November 17th.
I was proud to represent P & A Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. while giving back to our community. We worked on the home of Patricia Henderson. Ms. Henderson is a single mother. She raised her son in the home we worked on. Her son graduated from the Police Academy the same week! Previously employed as a commercial truck driver, Henderson now relies on the fixed income of her social security. Henderson’s home only had one entrance and exit as her windows did not fully open and her back door was jammed. This posed great danger to Henderson in the event of an emergency. Her only method of leaving her home was closed off. We addressed the safety issues in the home, painted the exterior of Henderson’s home, and provided basic landscaping. A professional contractor will be installing new energy efficient windows for the home at a later date.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to thank BOMA, Rebuilding Together, and everyone who participated in this event. Thank you for your donations to Ms. Henderson, for supporting P & A Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc, and for the fun times and great friendships gained from this event.
